RB22 Barrier

The RB22 is a heavy duty water-filled barrier and the only plastic barrier crash tested to BS EN 1317 N1 at 50mph (80kph). When impacted at high speed, the RB22 contains and redirects the vehicle, bringing it to a safe stop within the barrier system. This makes it an ideal choice for highways, temporary works, and high-risk construction zones, where vehicle impact protection and workforce safety are critical.

Unlike steel systems, the RB22 is lightweight to transport and handle when empty. Each unit can be placed by a two-person lift when empty, and once filled with water provides a robust 600kg ballast for secure performance. With built-in forklift slots, the RB22 can be deployed rapidly and efficiently, with up to 200m transported on a single lorry load.

The RB22’s interlocking pin system and steel side plates create a continuous safety barrier that can handle curves and 90° angles. It is also MIRA wind tested to withstand speeds up to 78mph, providing secure performance in exposed locations. Compatible with a full range of accessories including mesh, hoarding, gates, and infill panels, the RB22 adapts easily to suit highways, construction sites, and event perimeters.
