The Strategic Road Network (SRN) Alliances of Area 3 and 9 have achieved BS ISO 44001:2017 Collaborative Business Relationships Standard. The achievement was sealed in January 2019, with certificates presented on 24th April 2019 at British Standards Institution (BSI) head office in Milton Keynes.

What is the Strategic Road Network (SRN) Alliance – Area 3 and Area 9?

A collaborative joint venture between 24 individual partners formed to adopt a common focus and shared approach to deliver a sustainable balance between meeting the needs of highways users, improving quality and minimising costs.

Joint strategic objectives are aligned to Highways England’s three imperatives:

  • Safety – No one should be harmed when travelling or working on the strategic road network.
  • Customer – Improving how what we do impacts those that use our roads.
  • Delivery – On time and efficiently, whilst seeking innovations to realise the efficiency savings required of us.

Chevron are proudly part of both Area 3 and Area 9 Alliances and Lisa Killinger of Chevron told us:

“Chevron is really proud to be a part of the SRN Alliances in both areas 3 & 9 and showcase collaborative working on such a grand scale. Working alongside all partners is great for idea sharing and developing best practice. We can, and are all, learning from the strengths of each other. The relationships being built are of great value to all involved and we’re certainly seeing the benefits of collaboration within the industry.”

Matt Morphet, Chevron Chief Operating Officer added: “As a founder member of the origional collaborative BS11000 relationship in Area 3 as well as the first stand-alone TM provider to hold the accreditation, it makes me immensely proud to see how these communities are leading collaboration within our industry”

The SRN Alliance is an equally collaborative initiative across Areas 3 & 9 with companies including Highways England, Kier, Aggregate Industries, Carnell, Crown Highways, Tarmac, WJ, Chevron, CLM, Volker Laser, PDS, R&W, Chambers Southern, Enims, Roocroft, R & C Williams, KJ Thulborn, Waltet, Maurer, Camps Highways LTD and AC Landscapes & Treeworks.
