How It Works

Each Intelliframe® unit is equipped with built-in GPS and Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
When deployed on site, the system records its exact position and automatically updates a secure cloud dashboard, creating a digital twin of all active signage.

If a sign is moved, removed, or falls, the system triggers an alert – enabling quick response and ensuring continued compliance.

Digital permit boards can also display live information such as dates, times, and location data, and send advance warnings when a permit is nearing expiry.

This real-time visibility helps local authorities and contractors maintain compliance, reduce on-site checks, and improve operational efficiency across urban worksites.

Urban Use Example

During the M11 Moor Hall Overbridge Scheme, Intelliframe® technology was deployed by Chevron TM across 25 diversion signs to manage traffic through nearby urban routes.

The system enabled real-time GPS monitoring, cutting more than 100 manual maintenance journeys over a ten-day period – equivalent to 2,770 fewer miles driven.

When one sign was accidentally left behind after the works were completed, its GPS signal immediately identified the error, allowing Chevron TM to retrieve it before it caused public confusion or non-compliance.

This quick detection saved time, prevented potential fines, and demonstrated how digital signage delivers measurable gains in both efficiency and environmental performance.
