Customer Communication Terminal
Smart communication technology to connect the public and streetworks teams in real time
The Customer Communication Terminal (CCT) is a portable, real-time communication point that helps keep people informed, reassured, and connected during urban works and temporary traffic management.
By providing instant access to accurate information or live support at the push of a button, the CCT improves public experience, reduces confusion, and prevents potential confrontation at closure points – creating a calmer, safer environment for both the public and site personnel.

Core Benefits
Improves communication | Gives the public real-time access to accurate, localised information about works. |
Reduces confrontation | Enables direct contact with site teams, preventing confusion and frustration. |
Enhances safety | Reduces the need for personnel at closure points and helps prevent incursions. |
Boosts efficiency | Frees site teams to focus on essential operations while maintaining public contact. |
Flexible deployment | Configurable as an intercom, automated information point, or emergency call station. |

How It Works
The CCT is a self-contained, two-way communication terminal that can be placed at key points around an urban worksite – for example, near closure points, diversion routes, or pedestrian access zones.
Each terminal can be configured for three primary uses:
Intercom Mode
Acts as a live, two-way communication system, connecting road users or residents directly with site personnel for assistance or updates.
Automated Information Mode
Provides recorded or live data such as diversion details, journey times, or project updates, helping people plan their routes confidently.
Emergency Call Point Mode
Enables road users to contact vehicle recovery or emergency assistance instantly, providing reassurance and rapid response in stressful situations.
All communication is secure, traceable, and compliant – and can be personalised with signage and messaging to suit local or project-specific needs.

In the Urban Environment
The CCT is ideal for streetworks, utilities, and city maintenance projects where clear communication with the public is essential.
By replacing uncertainty with instant access to information and assistance, it helps:
-
Reduce public frustration and complaint volumes
-
Prevent unauthorised incursions or unsafe approaches
-
Support emergency response where needed
-
Build trust and transparency between worksite teams and the community
Flexible and easy to reposition, the CCT supports safer, more collaborative streetworks environments across highways, residential zones, and event spaces.
