Manufactured from hot-dip galvanised and powder-coated steel, MASS units are quick to assemble thanks to plug-in connections. Their lightweight yet robust design allows operatives to install, relocate, and remove barriers without heavy plant or specialist training, while flexible configurations can accommodate 90° bends and 180° rotations. The modular design also supports interchangeable top sections, giving options to adapt the system for visibility, security, or pedestrian management.
MASS is self-stabilising, using the weight of vehicles themselves to restrict deflection on impact and protect both occupants and those on site. It has been crash tested to BS EN 1317 T2 W5 at 80km/h, delivering proven safety performance. Unlike permanent systems, MASS installs without drilling or coring into the road for most temporary applications, though this is required where full BS EN 1317 level protection is specified.
